But how do ordinary people, living in the countries that have perpetuated shameful actions, such as the Holocaust, Genocide, and Apartheid, deal with that part of their history? In this book Erna Paris tried to find answers to these troubling questions. The search took her to the places of reckoning across four continents, interviewing people in all walks of life, The answers produced a masterpiece, a winner of many awards. The book displays superb scholarship combined with exceptional story-telling skills.
